Chiba University, based on the philosophy of Always Aim Higher, aims to produce graduates who can think and act independently and, using their specialized knowledge, can play an active role in various fields of international society. In particular, the graduate school education program, incorporating common graduate courses, is designed to foster professionals who are not bound by the conventional concepts of humanities and sciences.

In order to flexibly adapt to today's increasingly diverse and complex society, it is not enough to simply deepen one's own specialized knowledge. Having the opportunity to interact with graduate students working in various fields is one of the best parts of taking Common Graduate Courses. The acquisition of practical, interdisciplinary knowledge, will help our graduates to identify problems, overcome challenges, and create new value.

Abilities to be nurtured in Common Graduate Education

Graduate schools have traditionally been responsible for training researchers and advanced professionals. However, nowadays, in addition to these roles, graduate schools are also expected to train graduate students to become university faculty members. Structure of Common Graduate Education

研究科・学府開講科目 are courses that were originally offered by each graduate school, but have been opened up as Common Graduate Courses.
全学開講科目 are courses established by the university, apart from each graduate school.

Both (研究科・学府開講科目 and 全学開講科目) are divided into eight areas: "Communication," "Data Science," "Research Management," "Social Implementation and Regional Collaboration," "Career," "Ideathon," "Pre-FD," and "Global Education."
